No-Cost and Confidential Women's Center

This is the second in a three-part series of articles originally published in our print newsletter. You may download the full Summer 2021 newsletter here.

Kate Young, newsletter writer

Kate Young first heard of Choose Hope Women’s Center more than a decade ago, when she was pregnant with her first child. She loved Choose Hope Women’s Center’s pro-life mission of helping families with babies. As her own family grew, she adopted the habit of donating baby items to Choose Hope Women’s Center regularly. Wanting to help more, Kate helped sort baby clothes in the office a couple of times. However, she was not able to volunteer on a regular basis because of the needs of her own family.

Then, in the summer of 2019, when she was pregnant with her fifth baby, Kate finally found a way to help Choose Hope Women’s Center in a more fulfilling way. She became the writer of the Choose Hope Women’s Center of Harford County newsletter. The newsletter had not been sent out in some time, but, with Kate’s help, it once again began to be issued a few times a year. The newsletter is important because it is a way to let people in the community–potential donors, volunteers, and clients–know about the good work that Choose Hope Women’s Center does.

Kate brings much writing and editing experience from her days in college and law school. A non-practicing lawyer, she has been a stay-at-home mom since her first child was born. During the pandemic, she has also taken on the role of homeschooling mom! Kate and her husband, Brian, have two sons and three daughters, ages one to eleven.
